[visual artist • collage • books] In general her works can be described as uncanny, funny, sometimes unsettling, with playful interventions that challenge what you are seeing. Rens wants to protect her work against the usual analyzes, rational considerations and comparisons. Her motto is rather: let yourself be carried away with wonder, be open to the unusual. Her works do their utmost to provide nutrition for the requested attitude.

Cats and Dogs in the Window

Photographs of – as the title indicates – Cats and Dogs in the Window of their home. A continuous photography project started in 2014. Occasionally a series of these photos appears in a publication, of which four parts have been published since 2016. Each volume contains 30 tear off photos on glossy photo paper held together by a file fastener, 16,5 x 10 cm. Cover is stamped and signed in the back (also date stamped). Made by hand and on demand. Edition is open.
